Parkinson's Awareness Week is fast approaching with only a month to go to the launch of the PDS UK-wide campaign - 'Get it on time'. This campaign is focused on medication management and is to highlight the importance to people with Parkinson's of getting their medication on time - every time in hospital and care homes. When patients don't, their Parkinson's symptoms become uncontrolled and they can become very ill.
The PDS is looking for hospitals, GP surgeries, healthcare professionals and anybody else interested to help us with our campaign. Please do order a pack and get informed, put up a poster and spread the word amongst the people who can make a difference. The more the PDS is able to raise awareness amongst nurses, doctors, pharmacists and care staff of how important it is for people with Parkinson's to get their medication on time in hospitals and care homes the more the situation will be improved. Parkinson's Awareness Week packs contain posters, campaign leaflets, stickers and information leaflets. To order a pack contact the Parkinson's Disease Society PR team on (UK) 020 7932 1317.
Parkinsons Disease Society branches can order additional materials from Sharwards for their events and information days. To contact Sharwards, Tel: (UK) 01473 212 115 or Fax: (UK) 01473 212 114.
(If phoning the UK from abroad, add 44 to the beginning, and omit the first zero of the phone and fax numbers listed above)
