The second Bird Flu Summit will occur in Washington, DC on June 28-29, 2006, New Fields officials announced today.
This 2-day event will feature public and private sector leaders addressing the ever evolving threat of a Bird Flu pandemic and human to human transmission. Since the first historic Bird Flu Summit, held in Washington, DC in February, the confirmed number of human cases of avian influenza has reached 192 worldwide; 56% of those cases were fatal.
The success of the first Bird Flu Summit proved that now more than ever business, government, public and private sector leaders need to keep the collaborative continuity of information sharing and strategy planning alive. The second Bird Flu Summit will provide a platform for world-wide leaders to come together, network, and exchange preparedness and response efforts. Special emphasis will be placed on identifying the responsibilities of various stakeholders in order to improve global communication coordination and collaboration.
The 2-day event is open to all interested businesses, governmental agencies, and organizations from all countries. Those interested in making presentations related to the Bird Flu Summit or pandemic preparedness, please contact Sandra by e-mail at sandra@new-fields.com.
