Recent approvals of new products employing drug delivery technologies have served to provide an important catalyst for ongoing development of systems in development as well as renewed funding of early stage and clinical activities, reports Mark Alexay of Strategic Research Institute. Many late-stage clinical development products for delivery via through needlefree, microneedle, injectable, nasal/pulmonary, transdermal, combination products, reformulated generics, and enhanced solubilization and controlled release, and many other routes are vying for market entry in late 2006 and 2007.
