In less than six seconds, Oceanside, new York's IS Software Ltd. Offers doctors the services of CheckMedicare.com to check patients' Medicare eligibility and deductible status.

After providing care to elderly Medicare patients, many doctors find patients Opted out of the traditional Medicare program in exchange for carrying a card from an HMO, MCO, or MAP (Medicare Advantage Plan). Because a patient did not convey this information to the doctor until after Medicare denied the claim - if at all, the care ultimately was performed for free.

"Our service," says company President Ken Katz, "shows doctors which plan patients have changed to and when. For patients on "traditional" Medicare, the site indicates how much of the Medicare deductible remains for the current year."

While doctors continue to put patient care first and receivables second, ICS Software gives doctors greater freedom to decide if they want to treat patients under plans in which the doctors do not participate.

Since 1986, ICS Software has been writing medical practice management Software - The Sammy Systems. These products allow doctors to manage their practices and get paid with ease.
