HSA has launched its first ever Dental Plan, helping individuals and families access affordable dental care. From just £7 per month per adult and £1 for all additional children, HSA now offers a comprehensive dental plan enabling consumers to get financial help whether for NHS or private treatment.
Suzanne Clarkson from HSA explains the rationale behind the launch: "There is a large amount of confusion and concern with regards to both the availability and affordability of dental treatment in the UK. In fact, we carried out some research in June this year which found that 61% of consumers did not believe there would be NHS dentistry in the UK within the next 5-10 years. This has led to a large number of requests from our members to offer a plan that provides a greater amount of dental cover, plus our research also shows that one of the main deterrents from visiting the dentist is cost . These factors have led us to launch HSA's new Dental Plan."
The plan offers between £220 and £2,150 cash back on treatment and maintenance, which covers all aspects of everyday dental care including check-ups, x-ray, crown or scale and polish. On top of this, the plan offers cover for up to £15,000 of accident cover, up to £1,000 of emergency cover, plus up to £250 if you need to call a dentist out in an emergency. HSA's Dental Plan also offers up to £12,000 cash back in the unfortunate event that a member is diagnosed with mouth cancer, enabling them to pay for treatment, surgery or simply to go on a holiday for all the family.
Dr Nigel Carter, Chief Executive of the British Dental Foundation comments: "Regular visits to the dentist are absolutely vital and the Foundation welcomes anything that will encourage the public to attend more regularly. As well as providing invaluable advice on maintaining good oral health, dentists are also trained to check for early signs of more serious general health conditions such as mouth cancer."
As well as direct to consumers, the Dental Plan is also available to the corporate market, enabling employees to access affordable dental care. For further information on the new plan, visit http://www.hsadental.co.uk or call 0800 107 0384.
