A new pill that will help men who complain of premature ejaculation should be on the market in the United Kingdom by the year 2007.
The pill has already been tested on 30 men.
It has been developed by Enhance Biotech.
The market for premature ejaculation is much bigger than the market for impotence. About 10% of men suffer from impotence while 29% of men suffer from premature ejaculation.
This pill has the potential to sell better than the likes of Viagra.
At the moment doctors tend to advise that their patients have psychotherapy. In some cases they prescribe SSRIs for premature ejaculation.
This new treatment, called LI301, uses a combination of the effects of an SSRI with an opiate-like dulling of sensations around the penis. This reduces the intensity of feelings.
Patients should take the pill two hours before sexual intercourse.
