Two thirds of British Members of Parliament are fat and unfit. This comes from them, the MPs themselves (MP - Member of Parliament). They say they feel fat and unfit.

This is strange as there are growing demands from politicians for a crackdown on obesity and a drive towards healthy eating.

According to a survey carried out by the Men's Health Forum, most male MPs said they ate badly and did not exercise enough. Even those who felt their weight was OK said they did not exercise enough.

When these latest findings hit the UK headlines people will laugh. The British public has been bombarded with messages from MPs over the last few weeks about an emerging health crisis over obesity in the country.

Peter Baker, CEO of the Men's Health Forum, said their findings indicated that MPs were setting a bad example.

Peter said 'Despite all the good health messages from the Department of Health, the majority of male politicians are just like most other blokes: they're overweight, they're tempted by unhealthy foods, and they don't exercise enough.'

MPs lead very sedentary lives. They work in a fat-friendly environment. They spend ages in committee rooms, offices, bars and restaurants.

As schools are being told to serve healthy foods, it might be a good idea for the Houses of Parliament eateries to serve only health foods.
