Clare Brown, Chief Executive of Infertility Network UK said "There is a real shortage of both sperm and egg donors in the UK and some clinics are no longer even accepting patients on to waiting lists as there is no hope of them receiving treatment unless the situation changes. We desperately require more donors to come forward and we hope this new website set up by the National Gamete Donation Trust will highlight the shortage, encourage donors to find out how they can help and ultimately allow more couples to access the treatment they need."

male donor reasons

posted by tony on 30 Apr 2012 at 3:27 pm

i am a 34year old healthy male who has thought about becoming a donor but could never do it because to me it is too cold and clinical and i need warmth and love and affection in order to 'perform' thus meaning i could only be a sperm donor if it ment having sexual intercourse with the female but that view is often looked down upon though i know not why. as it would be a shame as there are a big shortage of donors.
