Leading pain management experts from throughout the US will converge on Augusta, Georgia May 18-19 for the "Managing Difficult Pain & Headache Patients" conference.

The 6th annual conference will be hosted by Walton Rehabilitation Health Systems of Augusta at the Augusta Marriott Hotel & Suites. It is designed specifically for primary care physicians, dentists, physician assistants, nurses and other healthcare professionals who treat pain and headache patients.

The pain experts leading workshops include:

-- John R. Vender, MD, Associate Professor of the Department of Neurosurgery, Medical College of Georgia on "Pain Management from a Neurosurgeon's Perspective."

-- James U. Adelman, MD, Headache and Wellness Center Moses Cone Health System Greensboro, North Carolina on "Advances in Women's Health: Migraine Management."

-- Dawn C. Buse, PhD, Director of Psychology and Research, New England Regional Headache Center, Worcester, Massachusetts on "Bio-Behavioral Techniques for headache management."

-- Orlando G. Florete, Jr. MD, Medical Director, Institute of Pain Management, Jacksonville, Florida on "Advances in Interventional Pain Management."

-- Donald R. Taylor, Medical Director Comprehensive Pain Center, Marietta, GA on "Medication Management in Chronic Pain."

-- Ian R. Livingston, MD, on "Treating Migraines using the Benson model of Stress Management." Livingston is a board-certified neurologist and co- author of "Breaking the Headache Cycle."

The conference moderators are Hemant K. Yagnick, MD and Marc S. Husid, MD, Directors of the Walton Pain Center, Walton Rehabilitation Health System, Augusta, Georgia.
