A new drug made from a type of banana might treat people who have Crohn's disease.
According to research carried out at Liverpool University, UK, medical food containing a fibre (USA spelling 'fiber') found in fruit blocks the inflammation in the lining of the intestines.
People with Crohn's disease endure terrible inflammation of the lining of the interstines.
Scientists are now trying to turn the compound into a powdered drink that patients can use to control their symptoms.
