British Dental Association Launches New CPD In Business Skills At Harrogate

Dentists can now polish their business skills and earn 12-hours of verifiable CPD by reading BDA News every month, delegates were told at today's launch of a new continuing professional development programme at the British Dental Conference and Exhibition in Harrogate.

Welcoming this latest initiative which complements the clinical CPD available in BDA's sister publication, the British Dental Journal, the Chair of the BDA's Executive Board, Dr Susie Sanderson said:

"The BDA is very pleased to be introducing the CPD business skills in the June issue of BDA News.

"We know that running a successful modern dental practice, in an increasingly commercial environment, requires business as well as clinical skills."

BDA members at the conference were able to test their business acumen by picking up an advance copy of BDA News, which will be circulated to members in early June.

The learning points and questions are based on areas of practice and business administration.

1. Dr Sanderson was speaking at the 2007 British Dental Conference and Exhibition at Harrogate's International Convention Centre (24 - 26 May).

2. The British Dental Association (BDA) is the professional association for dentists in the UK. It represents over 20,000 dentists working in general practice, in community and hospital settings, in academia and research, and in the armed forces.
