At the British Pharmaceutical Conference 2007, the NPA is asking Plastic Surgery in the pharmacy - why not?
The NPA practice symposium, taking place on Tuesday 11 September, will examine the opportunities and risks associated with emerging developments in pharmacy business and practice - including new professional powers and contractual flexibilities.
Pharmacists have been invited by Government to think creatively about their potential, and some are already pushing the boundaries and exploring hitherto unknown terrain. The NPA hopes its BPC session will be a timely exploration of the risks being encountered on the new frontiers, and a chance to define the parameters of community pharmacy's role.
A panel of experts from Government, the NHS and the pharmacy sector will help tackle this fundamental issue.
NPA's Head of NHS Service Development, Stephen Fishwick, said:
"We are asking, is the sky really the limit for community pharmacy? The format for the session will be highly entertaining, but the subject could hardly be more serious and fundamental for the profession - what is pharmacy for?"
