"The Faces of Medicaid II: Recognizing the Care Needs of People With Multiple Chronic Conditions" Center for Health Care Strategies: The study examines the patterns and prevalence of multiple chronic diseases among Medicaid beneficiaries. The study also examines how greater understanding of such patterns can lead to the development of more appropriate guidelines, care models, performance measurement systems and reimbursement methodologies for Medicaid (Kronick et al., "The Faces of Medicaid II: Recognizing the Care Needs of People With Multiple Chronic Conditions," October 2007).

"Health Care Cost and Access Challenges Persist," Center for Studying Health System Change: The issue brief discusses findings from a two-year study of 12 metropolitan communities across the U.S. that show there have been few changes in local health care markets since 2005 to reverse the trends of rising health costs, declining insurance coverage and widening access to care problems. The study also examines health care consumerism trends, including a greater emphasis on preventive and wellness programs and information on the quality and cost of care (Draper/Ginsburg, "Health Care Costs and Access Challenges Persist," October 2007).
