Carolina Health Care, PA, a 19-member specialty physician group, and UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) company, have reached a new agreement, making the physician group's specialty services available to UnitedHealthcare commercial health plan members.

"UnitedHealthcare members will welcome news that Carolina Health Care physicians are now part of the UnitedHealthcare physician network," said Austin Pittman, CEO of UnitedHealthcare of South Carolina. "This agreement is a reflection of our joint commitment to expand access to affordable and quality health care services in South Carolina. We look forward to working with the physicians at Carolina Health Care to make a positive difference in local health care access for our members."

Bill Remmes, administrator of Carolina Health Care, said, "We are pleased to be available to serve more of our community through our relationship with UnitedHealthcare." Carolina Health Care is an independent, multi-specialty group that has served the Florence area for over 25 years. The Group includes physicians specializing in Hematology/Oncology, Pulmonology, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Dermatology and Podiatry. Carolina Health Care is located at 506 E. Cheves St.
