Kaiser Permanente Southern California Region announced a pledge of $250,000 for immediate and long term needs associated with the Southern California wild fires.

The American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund will receive $100,000 to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to victims of the fires.

Kaiser Permanente's commitment of the additional $150,000 is earmarked for long-term fire recovery relief as needs emerge. Kaiser Permanente's physicians and employees would also like to express their deepest and most heartfelt concern for everyone who has been touched by this disaster.

Kaiser Permanente is America's leading integrated health plan. Founded in 1945, it is a nonprofit, group practice prepayment program with Southern California headquarters in Pasadena, California. Kaiser Permanente serves the health care needs of 3.3 million members in Southern California. Today it encompasses the nonprofit Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and their subsidiaries, and the for-profit Southern California Permanente Medical Group.
