The National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) announced two exciting guests for its 2008 Annual Meeting - journalist and author Tom Brokaw and actor and comedian Billy Crystal. The Annual Meeting will take place April 26-30, 2008 at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Fla.

Tom Brokaw, an esteemed news anchor and managing editor, has become a household name by covering every presidential election since 1968. From 1984 through this presidential election cycle, Brokaw has anchored all of NBC's political coverage, including primaries, national conventions, and election nights. Brokaw was NBC's White House correspondent during the Watergate scandal, had the first exclusive U.S. one-on-one interview with Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev, and was the first and only anchor to report from the scene the night the Berlin Wall fell. Brokaw has also established himself as an acclaimed author, having written articles, essays, and commentary for several publications including The New York Times, The Washington Post and Newsweek. In 1998, Brokaw became a best-selling author with the publication of The Greatest Generation. His most recent work (November 2007) is titled Boom-Personal Reflections on the 60's and Today.

Brokaw's insight, ability, and integrity have earned him numerous awards for his journalistic achievements, including several Emmy, Overseas Press Club, and National Headliner awards. He will join NACDS Chairman of the Board, Dave Bernauer, retired chairman and CEO of Walgreens, and NACDS President and CEO, Steven C. Anderson, IOM, CAE in addressing attendees on Sunday April 27 at the Business Program I.

Entertainment for the meeting will feature actor and comedian, Billy Crystal. Crystal has received six Emmy Awards, six American Comedy Awards, and seven Cable Ace Awards.

Crystal 's career has found incredible success in many areas: in front of the camera, as a performer, and behind the scenes as a writer, director, and producer. One of his early acting roles was as a regular on the popular TV series "Soap." Crystal also received acclaim for his role on "Saturday Night Live." A natural emcee, Crystal hosted the Grammy Awards three times and the Oscars seven times. On the big screen, he starred in movies such as "When Harry Met Sally" or "City Slickers I and II."

Crystal will provide entertainment for meeting attendees on Tuesday evening, April 29.

"NACDS is honored to be able to host Billy Crystal and Tom Brokaw, such incredibly talented and distinguishable guests," said Anderson. "The NACDS Annual Meeting offers opportunities for attendees to strengthen relationships, discuss strategic issues, and identify enhanced business prospects with retailers in the pharmacy industry. Brokaw and Crystal's will clearly bring perspectives that will further enhance the experiences of meeting attendees."
