A new drug that heals wounds without leaving a scar has been developed by a team of scientists at the UK Centre for Tissue Engineering, Manchester University.
The drug is called RN1001. It is injected into the skin around the area where the wound is. The team say the drug could also be available in gel form.
When the skin is wounded the body tries to heal it as quickly as possible to prevent infection. The problem with this fast healing is that the quality of the skin is sacrifices.
The scientists are about to start trials on sites of skin grafts and burn patients.
