The two Medtrade events in 2008 will offer preeminent opportunities to network and to gain vital information about new products and technologies and Medicare policy changes, said the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare). The Association reiterated its strong endorsement of Medtrade as the premier trade show for the home medical equipment industry.

Medtrade Spring will be held May 6-8, 2008 in Long Beach, Calif. at the Long Beach Convention Center. In conjunction with the show, AAHomecare will hold its semi-annual Continuum of Care Conference and Reimbursement Conference on May 6, 2008 at the Long Beach Convention Center. AAHomecare will also hold its second "Stand Up for Homecare" reception fundraiser on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach to raise money for a public awareness campaign for the homecare industry.

In the fall, the Medtrade Conference and Exposition will be held in Atlanta, October 27-30, 2008 at the Georgia World Congress Center. AAHomecare will hold its Continuum of Care Conference and Reimbursement Conference there on October 27. Continuing education units (CEUs) will be available at the AAHomecare conferences in conjunction with both of the Medtrade shows. "Medtrade is the preeminent trade show for the home medical equipment industry," stated Tyler J. Wilson, president of AAHomecare. "We urge our associate members, who are suppliers to the industry, to exhibit at Medtrade. We also encourage our provider members to attend Medtrade to take advantage of the opportunities to meet with vendors, network with peers, attend professional development sessions, and hear updates on important legislative and regulatory issues." Wilson said rapid technology developments in medical equipment, altered levels of reimbursement, and changes in Medicare policy all present challenges, and Medtrade is an excellent forum for acquiring the information needed to succeed in the current industry environment.
