Wednesday 5 December will see Johnny Vaughan, Michael Portillo and 'The Bill' actor Russell Floyd reciting their favourite readings at Asthma UK's prestigious annual Christmas Carol service, to raise vital funds to help improve the health and wellbeing of the 5.2 million people in the UK with the condition.

The occasion, at Chelsea's St Luke's Church at 7pm, will be marked with the attendance of the Charity's patron, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester. One of the highlights of the evening will be the Gallery Choir of Westminster Cathedral Choir School, which will lead the singing and mulled wine will be served at the end of the service.

Cheryl Armitage, Community Supporters Manager at Asthma UK, says: 'This is a very popular event in our calendar and one that is enthusiastically supported by the community and generously attended by celebrities. We take pleasure and pride in encouraging more people to attend this very special service celebrating Christmas while raising funds for a condition that affects so many people in the UK.'

Tickets cost £20 for adults, £10 for children or a family ticket (two adults, two children) for £50.
