The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain recently extended the range of services available on myRPSGB. This password protected area of the Society's website has been designed as a means of providing key services to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. All members are encouraged to check that they have opted to receive information.

Through myRPSGB Society members can:

Join special interest groups: myProfile allows pharmacists to join one or more special interest groups by accessing myRPSGB and navigating to myProfile. Groups include: The Industrial Pharmacists Group, Community Pharmacists Group, Hospital Pharmacists Group, Veterinary Pharmacists Group and Joint Pharmaceutical Analysis Group.

Group members receive specialist information and details of relevant conferences and meetings. There have been 703 new registrations to the special interest groups since this section of myRPSGB went live in mid-November.

Stay informed: myDetails allows pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to check their personal registration details held by the Society and myCommunications allows them to update their email address and also opt to receive communications from the Society tailored to their interests, such as 'Pharmacy Now', the English Pharmacy Board newsletter. In the future, pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to review and amend their personal information with suitable security checks in place.

Pay fees: By accessing myRetentionFee pharmacists and pharmacy technicians can access the online payment service during the retention fee payment period using their myRPSGB account. There are easy-to-follow instructions and an option to print off receipts for recent payments.

Jeremy Holmes, RPSGB Chief Executive and Registrar, says that there are many new possibilities for myRPSGB and further potential services are being developed, "Any registered pharmacist or pharmacy technician can access the password-protected myRPSGB site. Its key aim is to be self-administering and easy to use. Through myRPSGB the Society plans to provide further useful services to enhance Society-Member relationships. It is important that all members check that they have opted to receive information and to join special interest groups"
