Six physical therapists are the recipients of the Florence P Kendall Doctoral Scholarships, awarded by the Foundation for Physical Therapy Board of Trustees in 2007 for the 2007-2008 academic year.

The $5,000 Kendall Doctoral Scholarships are awarded to outstanding physical therapists embarking upon their first year of graduate studies toward a doctorate degree, and are funded by the Henry O and Florence P Kendall Endowment Fund.

The scholarship recipients are Eric Allen, PT, MPT, University of Iowa; Stacey DeJong, PT, MPT, Washington University in St. Louis; Adam Goode, PT, DPT, Duke University; Christine Malecka, PT, MPT, DPT, University of Delaware; Amee Seitz, PT, DPT, Virginia Commonwealth University, and William Thompson, PT, DPT, University of Delaware.

"We are delighted to provide financial support to these outstanding students as they begin their research careers," said Foundation President/Chair Richard K Shields, PT, PhD, FAPTA. "We look forward to following their progress."

The Foundation for Physical Therapy was established in 1979 as a national, independent nonprofit corporation dedicated to the ultimate goal of improving the quality and delivery of patient care. The Foundation accomplishes this goal by providing support for scientifically based and clinically relevant physical therapy research.
