UroToday.com - This study analyzed the clinical value of combined use of survivin, cytokeratin (CK) 20, and mucin (MUC) 7 mRNA in the detection of bladder cancer patients in China. The group evaluated these three markers in voided urine using traditional RT-PCR. It is confirmed that the overall sensitivity and specificity of the three markers were all higher than voided urine cytology. Combined the 3 markers with voided urine cytology gave a higher sensitivity than that of the biomarker alone. It may be a new choice for the detection of bladder cancer in urine combined using the three markers and may partly replace of the cystoscope.
