The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has won a prestigious industry award for customer service. The RCP's Meetings and Events Department took the 'No.1 Venue in 2007' title in both the London region and the whole of the UK in the BDRC (Business Development Research Consultants) Awards, beating stiff competition from major hotel chains and conference centres.
The BDRC's Venue Verdict Awards are based on client feedback in a variety of areas such as overall satisfaction, likelihood to recommend, likelihood to return, and the influence of the customer experience on brand perception. The BDRC research comprises a blue chip client base which included 25 London FTSE companies, as well as leading public sector organisations. The College came top of 250 venues in only their first year of entering the Awards, which is a superb achievement.
Clive Ostler, General Manager of the RCP's Meetings and Events Department, said:
"I am really delighted for my staff that we have won this award. This is no overnight achievement, it is the result of many years of investing in staff training and recognition, and focusing on standards and service. We don't intend to rest on our laurels, and are striving for continuous improvement.
"We had a solid platform to build on for events due to our great location outside the congestion zone in Regent's Park and the innate attraction of our Grade I listed modern building, and now attract a client list that appreciates our 500 years of history and heritage."
"People may not always realise that although we are primarily a medical organisation, we are also a professional meetings and events venue. Our client list is very varied, from City companies and institutions, through retail, pharmaceutical and electronics, to those organisations specifically interested in history and architecture."
The College is continually improving its products and services and complies with both ISO 9001: 2000 and the Disability Discrimination Act. It also complies with the ABPI Code of Practice for Hospitality and Meetings.
