Nora Griffin-Shirley is an associate professor and specialist in orientation and mobility at the Virginia Murray Sowell Center for Research and Education in Visual Impairment. Griffin-Shirley said that healthy living, along with its many other benefits, can help people retain their vision. Though some of the advice like not smoking and wearing sun glasses is obvious, other less obvious practices can keep your peepers in tip-top condition.
The Virginia Murray Sowell Center specializes in preparing exemplary specialists in visual impairment, orientation and mobility, and deafblindness. The center promotes high quality research to address the academic and social needs of school-age students with visual impairments.
