UroToday.com - Peyronie's disease, when associated with a severe penile deformity, causes a devastating condition psychologically and physically.

It is associated with a loss of penile length and girth as well as erectile dysfunction. The surgical procedure to restore it, with a maximum patient satisfaction to obtain a good self-stem, is based on a detailed preoperative evaluation and tunica albuginea reconstruction in length and girth (circular and lateral grafting) and on geometrical measurements. The limitation for length restoration is based on the length of the dissected neurovascular bundle and for girth restoration on the measurement of the circumference in the normal area of an erected penis. A malleable, 2-piece or 3-piece penile prosthesis is implanted after tunica reconstruction with the same surgical procedure used to treat concomitant erectile dysfunction.
