This conference, taking place June 22-26, 2008 at Whistler, British Columbia, Canada will use a cross-disciplinary approach to explore the present and future status of natural products and their prospects for continued commercialization. It will focus on a comprehensive view of recent developments impacting the discovery and production of natural products.

Topics, such as high throughput screening, genome shuffling, defined media, novel instrumentation, bioreactor operation, bioinformatics, etc., will be discussed within the context of key cultures.

Developments will be explored as they impact traditional culture classes: actinomyces, non-yeast fungal, plants, & single cell bacteria/yeast.

Special sessions will be devoted to atypical sources of cultures and specific novel cultures. New perspectives, highlighting successful approaches for one culture class that might be applied to another, may be gained.

Keynote Speaker: David Newman, National Cancer Institute
Banquet Speaker: Bill Fenical, Scripps Institute

Scientific sessions are scheduled on the following topics:

* Actinomycetes
* Non-Yeast Fungal Cultures
* Bacterial and Yeast Cultures
* Plants

Special sessions are schedules in the following areas:

* Sources of Novel Cultures
* Novel Culture Development
