A study published in this month shows how proteins might be important in the underlying processes occurring in Multiple Sclerosis (MS).
This relatively novel work is screening and identifying proteins involved in MS, particularly in the different types of lesion in the central nervous system of people with MS.
Dr Laura Bell, Research Communications Officer at the MS Society, said: "This is early research but provides an interesting insight into some of the potential players that cause different types of damage to the central nervous system in people with MS. Understanding how MS develops is vital to target therapies for the condition."
