Statement from Chuck Mohan, executive director and CEO of the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation on reports of possible links between childhood vaccinations and mitochondrial diseases:
"There are no scientific studies documenting that childhood vaccinations cause or worsen mitochondrial diseases, but there is very little scientific research in this area. Mitochondrial diseases are as prevalent as childhood leukemia, however the National Institutes of Health devotes only $11 million a year to research into mitochondrial disorders and only about one-third of that is earmarked for primary mitochondrial disease research. Many scientists believe unmasking the causes of mitochondrial disease may lead to possible cures for Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, heart disease and cancer."

Vaccine Caused Severe Reaction With My Child
posted by Beth on 28 Dec 2009 at 6:57 pmWhile there may be no scientific studies I know 100% for a fact that my son's 18 month DTAP vaccine injured him severely and he has an underlying Mitochondrial Disease. He went from being a normal functioning child to requiring a ventilator, a GI tube, a trach all within a few days of having this vaccine. My son almost died. We are lucky to have him today but he is severely disabled now. This is a word of caution to anyone who wants to vaccinate their child with this disease... be careful.
When will everyone wake up and demand change?
posted by Jacalyn on 5 Mar 2011 at 3:50 amOur kids are getting too many,too early and these vaccines are full of horrible toxins.Isn't it strange how every year around October the flu vaccine madness starts?Hurry get your flu shot!It's all over the media,we are bombarded.Why not the same excitement there for all the children who are damaged by the vaccines.Its about money.The CDC and our government is so worried about flu but meanwhile ignores what is happening to our children.My son has been damaged by vaccines and I sympathize with all parents who are going through this atrocity.My son was born perfectly healthy,hearing and around the 13 month mark he stopped babbling,developed asthma and unbeknown to us had nerve deafness.Remember he was born hearing,talking at 10 months(mama,dada,bye bye.He had never been sick once,no ear infections not even a cold.
The pediatrician had documented his reactions to vaccines,sent us to the ER on a couple occasions.I am tired of being treated like a moron.They actually think we don't know our own babies,cant see them change before our eyes.These things don't just happen,something causes it.A healthy baby who is also developmentally healthy does not suddenly become Autistic,hearing impaired or have some Mitochondrial Disease within a matter of days or a couple weeks.No prior symptoms of onset? My son will never receive another vaccine of any kind.We as citizens need to stand up for our rights.
