The Pill And No Sex Drive
posted by Sarah on 25 Mar 2009 at 5:22 pmI am so happy to finally know that I am not the only one who has had a severe decrease in my sexual libido from oral contraception use. When discussing these feelings with my doctor I had always been told that it was nothing and it was impossible that the pill was to blame. I have been on the pill for over 10 years and find that it is the easiest form of contraception (I have an alergy to condoms and the lubes they use) for me. I have tried many different types of the pill in the hopes that I could mend this problem in the bedroom. Men dont seem to understand that yes being on the pill is great - it is a very high level of contraception, but if the woman has a decreased libido then what it the point??? I am still investigating different types of contraception - latley thinking of the Nuvo Ring.... not too much research out there on this one yet though.
I just wanted to commend the health care professionals who have been digging deeper into this very serious side affect - more research needs to be done, but I feel alot better knowing that my feelings (or lack thereof) have been validated!
Thank-you and keep that research going :)

| Married? |

| I wonder if the women in these studies were out there trying to revive their sex lives, or were expecting their husbands to bare the whole burden. Could marriage and duration of being with a partner decrease libido just as much!? Monogamy drives me insane, perhaps others might try out polyamory as a natural viagra. |
