Dementia Hospice Care
posted by Mom's daughter on 02 Nov 2009 at 5:52 pmI just lost my mother to Dementia. Fortunately, her doctor recommended palliative care at home. The hospice managed her pain and made her comfortable. This care continued when she was admitted to a nursing home. She died in comfort and was pain free. All the while, the hospice staff informed us of everything she was going through, including the dying process. There were no IVs and no feeding tubes.
