posted by quinton henderson on 05 Aug 2005 at 7:16 pm
Hi I am 18 now and this week I purchased a bottle of lipo 6 from gnc. The first two days as directed on the package, I only took two capsules daily. two days later (yesterday), I increased my dosage to 3 capsules daily and I have noticed a slight frequent skipped heartbeat and an overall accelerated heartbeat. I am a little nervous about continuing but i want to cut fat for a competition should i stop?

Quinton, I would discontinue use of this product immediately. Any nutritional supplement that causes an irregular heartbeat cannot be 100% safe for you to use. | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

I've been taking Lipo-6 for about two weeks. I feel light headed at times and very anxious. I don't know if the dosage for me at age 21 is too high or what. But I think I'm going to stop. I feel more like myself without taking Lipo-6 | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

Today I took two capsules and feel very nervous about it.
I’m very healthy but still wondering if I’m in danger.
I’ll never take any kind of weight loss again.
Thank you so much for advising.

I am a strong & Healthy 29 year old. I bought some LIPO 6 after reading how succseful it was as a fat burner. Yesterday I took a single capsule before going to work. On the bus (about 30mins after consumption) I suddenly felt a sudden rush of anxiety and nausea grip my stomach. I had difficulty reamining calm whilst waiting to arrive at work. When I got off the bus I started retching but wasnt sick. I went into work but felt compleaty out of sorts. I went back and forth to the toilet and eventually had to ask to go home. For the following two hours I felt awful, really hyped and very unpleasant. I went home & felt awful all day long. I was sweating, red faced and felt shaky. I woke up this morning and dont feel to bad. I wont be taking anymore & you all have my sympathy. Im just glad its over and it hasnt done any permanant damge, the symptoms described on here seem compleatly belivable following my experinece with LIPO-6. I just wish I had read this site first!! | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

Went to GNC today, the sales guy pointed me directly to Lipo 6 EF. I read the label, the dosage instructions have not changed from your previous description. Thought I would do more research, and googled you guys. Glad I did! | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator
| hydration is the key |
| posted by kachoban on 08 Oct 2005 at 4:37 am |
Hi everybody. I take Lipo 6 on regular basis and have lost over 38 lbs of fat within the last 2 months.
I personally don't think that fat burners are for everyone. If you are sensitive to caffeine, then don't take it. If you are sensitive to caffeine, then that means you're probably sensitive to the other ingredients in it. If you aren't sensitive to the ingredients, and decide to use Lipo 6 to lose fat, then YOU HAVE TO STAY HYDRATED!!! All of the ingredients are either stimulants or diuretics; which means you will lose ALOT of water from your body while taking it. The same "adverse effects" you speak of, are the same "adverse effects" from extreme dehydration.| previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

I just wanted to thank all of you for posting issues with Lipo 6. The lady at GNC recommended Lipo 6 to me to lose a few pounds and said it is never returned. I only took one, which kept me up all night. Okay for me though because I found this site and decided that the risks are too great and am returning the product today. I have two young children and can't imagine taking the risk for a few pounds. I was disturbed that there wasn't any literature accompanying the product.
Anyway, thank you.

Well this is all very interesting, and I haven't even recieved my LIPO 6 package yet! I'm an English man living here in Estonia and placed the order over the internet. Now...the cutoms people sent me a letter saying they're holding the product...to cut a long story short, I was told that some medical agency needs to look into the ingredients and confirm if this product is either 'medication' or 'food supplement'. If it's medication, it get's sent back. So, being angry as hell I came on the net and did a google search to find the answer to these ingredients. Hence came to this site with all this interesting information. I'm a curious person and can't help but want to find a product that will help me lose weight and return to my former younger self -I'm 29 years old now. So...you're all starting to make me slightly concerned until I read the one persons opinion about hydration. Honestly, could that be the key? Or is a nutrex guy placing some good info about the product on here? I really need to know as if I get this product I think I am tempted to try it out!! My email address is mel@bellamimi.com - so please feel free to email me personally to talk about this. No weird emails people, just some straight forward help would be nice. Cheers :o) | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

I was very into bodybuilding from 1993 until 2003 until I was in a car accident that wrecked my back. Since then I have deflated in size to become what I now refer to jokingly as being “merely human”. All humor aside, I have tried to remain slim and fit despite my inability to lift weights anymore. I was turned onto Lipo-6 about a month and a half ago as a way to increase energy and manage appetite, and I bought it from a major online resource. For the first week, (and mind you at no time did I ever even reach the full dosage – I only ever took one capsule twice a day), I was amazed by my increased energy and I really was able to curb my appetite. Then something happened. One day while walking down the hall at work talking to a co-worker I grabbed my chest and dropped to the floor. I work at a government facility that has an onsite infirmary and was taken there thinking I was having a heart attack. They put me on the EKG and my heart rate was 120. After laying down for 20 minutes, they ran the EKG again and my “resting heart rate” was still 98 bpm. FYI - my normal heart rate is 58. For the next two weeks, after getting off of Lipo-6, my heart kept doing this blub-blub thing, like it was missing a beat or almost like my heart was trying to pass a clot, and it would take my breath away and I would see stars. I have seen a doctor since and he explained what I was taking in detail and what it was doing to me. See, while Synephrine is an energy booster like Ephedrine, there is a critical difference in that Synephrine is a vasoconstrictor not a vasodilator. Meaning, it was ramping my heart rate while restricting the blood vessels at the same time. It was the equivalent of running as fast as I could for 20 minutes then having someone grip my neck really tight. It very well COULD have killed me! So it doesn’t matter how hydrated I was, what matters is that different people have different susceptibilities to compounds like these. Synephrine effects me in a different way than the next person, no matter how much water I drink with it, so this shouldn’t just be waved off by saying “oh just drink more water and you’ll do fine”. I have been off Lipo-6 for a month now, and I have one small heart palpitation episode about once every three days or so even still, so I am going to see a cardiologist to determine if there has been any permanent damage done to me or not by this stuff. Bottom line: I only took this stuff at half strength for a total of two weeks and something has happened to me. DON’T TAKE LIPO-6. | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator
| Doin just fine |
| posted by Amos on 05 Nov 2005 at 8:48 pm |
I'd like to just say that I've taken Lipo 6 on mulitple occasions for months at a time and have had zero side effects, even on the extreme fat loss dosing pattern. I think that perhaps some of you may have not read the label that stated it is best to start out with one capsule dosing to assess the body's sensitivity to the ingredients. I DO remember seeing this label on the bottle, and though I did NOT heed it...I still am doing just fine.
I also would like to say that there is also a number of other variables that could have attributed to some of your cases. The biggest two probably being each individual's unique sensitivity to the ingredients, and hydration. I'm just doing this to say that there are people out there who have used this with great success, me having lost over 70lbs. with Lipo 6's help. Some people were just not made to use weightloss supplements and stimulants. But that doesn't mean they should be ripped from the market for those of us who swear by them.| previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

Why not ban everything, some of you people make me sick. Smoking and drinking kill so many people each year and yet they are still legal. Oh I'm going to sue for my “palpitations”, give me a break. What you people need is a clean diet, intense exercise, and proper supplementation. FDA can be contacted to report general complaints or concerns about food products, including dietary supplements. You may telephone or write to FDA.

The MedWatch program allows health care providers to report problems possibly caused by FDA-regulated products such as drugs, medical devices, medical foods and dietary supplements. The identity of the patient is kept confidential.
Consumers may also report an adverse event or illness they believe to be related to the use of a dietary supplement by calling FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088 or using the website http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/report/consumer/consumer.htm. FDA would like to know when a product causes a problem even if you are unsure the product caused the problem or even if you do not visit a doctor or clinic.

I think it's funny that you guys are slamming only Lipo 6. I tried Hydroxycut and experienced dizziness, nausea, elevated heart rate and heart palpitations. I never even came close to reaching the regular dosage. On the other hand, I took a fat loss suppliment without caffeine and the symptoms never cropped up. I should have known, a normal cup of coffee gives me the shakes. Obviously, my symptoms were due to my reaction to caffeine. I know I can't take it, so I don't. The whole point of starting out with an extremely low dosage is to check how you react. It says not to take if you have hypertension, could that be because it causes your blood pressure to go up? It is pretty easy to see, plus you should always be careful about what you put in your body. Maybe if you had been more careful and aware nothing would have happened. Try going to the gym and eating healthy, it would be a lot more constructive than sitting at your computer complaining. | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

Well, you guys can really scare people off of diet supplements. I think it's all in the persona and what your body can take. I've heard good things. I've heard bad. I've heard more good than bad. It's the risk that I am not to happy about. I hate this because I really wanted to lose weight but either the supplements are too dangerous or you have to take a lose weight or die. Well, I just want to say thanks for scarying the heck out of me. Fear will kill you more than anything. | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

Sarah, telling us to be careful about putting something into our bodies, while in the same breath telling us about what you took that also gave you elevated heart rate - then complaining on your computer about us complaining on our computers seems, um, silly? In my first post I explained that I AM in shape and exercise, I just don't bodybuild anymore; only to be told by a few of you to "just exercise more and stop complaining". I was completely healthy when I took that stuff, and I took it to boost energy and curb appetite, not to drop tons of weight like I'm a computer geek sitting here with nothing better to do than troll bulletin boards. I did a web search for information as to the dangers of taking Lipo-6 after I had issues, so I could get informed, and I found this site. If you have nothing wrong with you, and you're not even taking this supplement, then one has to ask why you even posted here? | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

I am a 27 year old male who has taken this product for about 6 months and have had no problems like any of you have complained about. actually this is the first time that I have heard anything bad about this product. I have always recommended this product when I was asked about weight loss supplements because I have lost a lot of fat with it.
Right now I weigh 230 pounds at about 33% body fat and this is way skinnier than I was when I started taking it. I was about 245 pounds with no muscle tone to speak of and too embarassed to get my body fat level checked. But since I joined a gym and started taking them I got a whole grip of energy that helped contain my appetite, lose a tone of body fat and grow all kinds of muslce tone.
I always tell people that this product helped make a difference in my life and helped turn me from a blob of fat that I had become to a thinner and gave more energy on my quest to become more muscular. Now don't be offended, though I know that some of you are already, I don't know the conditions that you took them under. But did you eat right while taking this stuff. Did you take it on the way to work and then get there and drink a couple of cups of coffee? Did you drink a soda pop or any other things that are a stimulant that might give you adverse affects? And about the ingrediants that stuff is too deep of a topic and spans across a whole lot of other topics that is too long to discuss now. but food for thought, I bet that you would stop taking alot of things that you use and eat every day if you knew what was in them or what else they were used for or how they were made.| previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

I bought my bottle of LIPO 6 a little bit ago (about month ago) and I just recently started to use it...Umm, from reading these personal experiences, I am starting to think that I may have suffered one of the symptoms....I take my capsules about half an hour prior to playing basketball (I'm on a Co-Rec Basketball team and playing basketball whenever possible) and I think this only happened once, but I had this wierd feeling on my chest or my head....but I felt like something was going to happen to me (good or bad...I was thinking it might have been something bad) and I was totally caught off guard because of this....I know I spent $30 on these pills and I knw I don't take them in a routinely fashion, so should I still keep taking them or stop completely and find some other method to loose weight? | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator

I am currently on my second bottle of Lipo-6 and while I have not experienced any of the side effects that have been mentioned, I have started to feel slightly depressed. This happened the first time that I used the product as well but I did not associate the depression to the product. Now that I am on my second bottle (I had a break of about 3 months between bottles) I am starting to feel slightly depressed again. | Is it too late to fix ourselves? |
| posted by Dea Brown on 18 Dec 2005 at 5:43 pm |
I was pregnant and recently lost my 4 month fetus in October 2005. Soon after, I was in a rush to lose the baby weight that I had gained from being pregnant. Having one time been a user of Xenadrine EFX (Ephedrine Free), I wanted to lose the weight even faster. I saw Lipo 6 in a fitness ad and thought the the liquid caps would make me loose weight faster. Since I didn't see Ephedrine in the ingredients, I thought that this would do the trick. After having taken Lipo 6 for a few weeks, sporadically, I found my joints to be tinglely, my heart to race every time I took it before my morning workouts and found myself dripping with sweat at the end of my warm-up phase which last 5 minutes. I have never had a weight problem until after starting Lipo 6. Some may say that my being a soldier in the Army would give me all of the workout that I needed to stay in shape. Since I started using Lipo 6 my body has actually gotten thicker but not the way I wanted it. My body isn't ridding itself of the food that I eat which is a side effect I learned about after reading what sythetic guggulsterones Z&E does to the body with out the proper assisted supplements.
My concern is now that it is in my system, how do I get Lipo out of my body and get back to being a healthy person. It is one thing to identify the problems but how can we fix them now. I want to have another baby one day but have I caused my body unrepairable damage? I'm going to the doctor to get checked out but I wanted to know what you all did to rid your system of Lipo 6 ingredients. | previous page | post followup | alert a moderator
