According to the Health Protection Agency (UK), another 14 patients who have been under investigation in England did have swine flu A (H1N1) infection, bringing the total number of confirmed cases throughout the United Kingdom to 101. The Health Protection Agency’s (HPA’s) laboratories carry out swine flu virus testing. The HPA announced that the new confirmed cases include 6 adults and 8 children in the East of England, London, and South East regions. 11 of the new cases had had contact with other people who were confirmed cases, while 2 had been abroad where the source of the infection is still under investigation.

The HPS informs that 155 different sample are currently under laboratory investigation in the UK. The Agency stresses that these figures change on a daily basis because some of those under assessment are discounted while new ones are introduced.
