Is CBD legal? Hemp-derived CBD products with less than 0.3% THC are legal federally but still illegal under some state laws. Cannabis-derived CBD products, on the other hand, are illegal federally but legal under some state laws. Check local legislation, especially when traveling. Also, keep in mind that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved nonprescription CBD products, which may be inaccurately labeled.

Cannabidiol, also known as CBD, is one of the compounds in the Cannabis sativa plant. Sometimes oils, capsules, and other products that aim to treat various conditions, including anxiety, contain CBD.

This article explores CBD, how it may help with anxiety, a list of products that contain CBD, and when it might be helpful for a person to contact a doctor about anxiety.

Manufacturers extract CBD from the cannabis plant and infuse it with many different products, including topical products, such as body lotions, oils, and tinctures, edibles, and capsules that a person ingests.

The psychoactive compound in the C. sativa plant is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). THC is responsible for the ‘high’ feeling a person may associate with cannabis use. CBD products do not contain more than 0.3% THC dry weight, which is not enough for a person to experience psychoactive effects. However, after processing, THC can reach higher levels, resulting in the CBD having psychoactive properties.

The legality of CBD oil varies between states and is usually dependent on the THC content.

There are three main types of CBD:

  • CBD Isolate: This is the purest form of CBD. It contains no other compounds.
  • Full-spectrum CBD: Includes various compounds from the cannabis plant, sometimes including small amounts of THC levels — typically below 0.3%.
  • Broad-Spectrum CBD: Contains various compounds from the cannabis plant and usually has trace amounts of THC.

  • 7 mg
  • 17 mg
  • 50 mg
  • 60 mg

A person can take the oil orally by dropping it directly onto the tongue, using the provided dropper. Individuals may also add the oil to food or drinks.

According to the company, they use US-grown hemp that the US Hemp Authority has certified. They also use an eco-friendly CO2 extraction method that is safe and does not harm the environment.

FabCBD Gummies

FabCBD offers two types of CBD gummies: Anytime and Nighttime.

The Anytime gummies contain 25 mg of CBD isolate, which is THC-free. The broad-spectrum Nighttime gummies contain 12.5 mg of CBD and additional ingredients, such as melatonin.

The company claims its gummies are gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, and fruit-flavored. Their CBD products derive from organically grown Colorado hemp plants, which they extract using the eco-friendly CO2 method.

NuLeaf Softgel Capsules

NuLeaf’s full-spectrum capsules are available in three dosages starting from 300 mg per bottle.

The highest dose available is 1,800 mg per bottle. NuLeaf says that each capsule contains 15 mg of CBD.

NuLeaf uses a CO2 extraction process and claims they grow the organic hemp in Colorado and control the entire farming and production process.

CBDfx Oil Tinctures

CBDfx offers two broad-spectrum CBD oils. One is a calming oil, and the other is a wellness oil. Both are available in five strengths ranging from 500 mg to 6,000 mg per bottle.

The company uses the CO2 extraction method and then combines the CBD with coconut oil.

Zatural CBD Gum

This sugar-free, CBD-infused chewing gum by Zatural is available in two mint flavors. There are eight pieces of gum that each contain 10 mg of broad-spectrum CBD oil.

As a person chews the gum, it releases the oil, and the skin in the mouth absorbs it. Zatural claims that this method means a person starts to feel the benefits five times faster than when the digestive tract absorbs it.

The company’s plants are U.S.-grown, and they use the CO2 method to extract the CBD.

CBDistillery Softgels

CBDistillery offers CBD isolate soft gel capsules that they claim contain broad-spectrum CBD.

The company offers this product in extra strength, with each capsule containing 25 mg of CBD.

CBDistillery advises they source their non-GMO plants in the U.S. and grow the plants using natural farming methods. They also state they use third-party testing to ensure quality standards and have U.S. Hemp Authority certification.

The company uses a CO2 extraction method for its broad-spectrum CBD products.

MedTerra provides CBD isolate oil in three strengths of 16 mg, 33 mg, and 100 mg per 1 ml dropper. Each bottle contains thirty 1 ml servings.

MedTerra is certified by the U.S. Hemp Authority, meaning they conform to high standards.

They claim to organically grow their plants in the U.S., which are free from THCs and GMOs.

Lazarus CBD RSO

The RSO from Lazarus is a full-spectrum CBD oil. Rather than using a dropper to measure the dosage, Lazarus provides a syringe-type instrument so that a person may mix the oil with food or drink. This method allows a person more control over their serving size.

The 10 ml bottle contains 1,000 mg of CBD per syringe, and the 50 ml bottle contains 5,000 mg of CBD per syringe. Lazarus says that each ml of RSO oil contains 100 mg of CBD. They recommend that a person should start by taking 50 mg, wait for 2 hours, and increase the dosage if they feel it is needed.

It uses US-grown, organic, pesticide-free, and non-GMO plants. The company’s extraction process uses ethanol, and they filter the product to remove impurities.
