Helix mainly make mattresses, but they also offer beds and bedding. They are based in the United States.

Good sleep is crucial for health, but around 7–19% of adults in the U.S. are not getting enough sleep, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

As the International Chiropractors Association point out, the type of mattress a person chooses can have a big impact on their sleep quality.

Helix sells six main mattress models, all of which are available in a variety of sizes. Below, we explore these options and the company that make them.

Formed in 2015, Helix sell mattresses and bedding online. The range of products includes mattresses, bed bases, pillows, and bedding.

The company ask new customers to complete a quiz on their website. This takes a few minutes and asks about the person’s:

  • age
  • weight
  • height
  • sleeping position
  • preferences for the feel of bedding
  • back pain, if applicable

Helix say that they use this information to match a person with the mattress likely to suit them best.

Each of the company’s mattresses comes with a cover that is, according to Helix, breathable, designed to increase airflow and regulate temperature.

Helix also say that the wrapped coils in each mattress provide a reinforced perimeter — edge support that keeps the mattress from sagging.

Each Helix mattress is available in six sizes:

  • twin
  • twin XL
  • full
  • queen
  • king
  • California king

Also, each mattress is available in a standard or “luxe” version. The latter is more expensive and, the company say, has:

  • zoned lumbar support
  • a premium quilted pillowtop
  • 2 inches, or 5 centimeters, of added thickness
  • an ultra-breathable Tencel cover

Each Helix mattress is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning that it stands up to rigorous environmental and health standards concerning emissions, content, performance, and durability.

Their mattresses are also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certified. This conveys that the mattresses “have been tested for harmful substances and […] are thus safe from a human-ecological perspective.”

Helix offer free shipping within the U.S., a 10-year warranty for each mattress, and a 100-night sleep trial — if a person is not happy with their mattress, they can return it and receive a full refund within 100 days.

Below, we describe the six Helix mattresses and who might prefer each type.
