President Obama's economic stimulus bill includes $17.2 billion for financial incentives to physicians and hospitals to promote the use of electronic medical records. Many office practices have already adopted EMRs and other tools to improve the continuity of patient care for patients while reducing costs.

This year's International Office Practice Summit will feature presentations by experts in primary care improvement, addressing topics such as the role of IT in supporting patient-focused medical homes, tactics to reduce re-hospitalizations, and other critical issues in office redesign. Media are welcome to attend the Summit, March 22-24 in Vancouver, BC, or to pursue interviews separately with any of the speakers and presenters.
