Ambition 2016 aligns with the National Resilience Capabilities Programme with full support of Civil Contingencies Secretariat

Ambition - the emergency preparedness, resilience and response event will align its focus with the National Resilience Capabilities Programme. The programme, written by the Civil Contingencies Secretariat on Emergency Preparedness, aims to increase the capability of the UK to respond to and recover from civil emergencies. The programme identifies challenges and monitors the current levels of capability in each of the areas covered by the twenty two work streams led by the Lead Government Departments (LGD).

The move will be fully supported by the Civil Contingencies Secretariat.

David Thompson, Event Manager for Ambition says "It is critical that all emergency, preparedness, resilience and response professionals have a forum whereby they can explore multi-agency framework, interoperability and establish common frames of reference. It is because of this that the Civil Contingencies Secretariat are fully supporting our vision for Ambition".

Crucially, Ambition will bring together category one responders from the emergency services, category two responders from the likes of critical national infrastructure, highways and telecommunications as well as the wider resilience community.

The impact of this will have will be far-reaching. By providing a unique platform for responders to come together, define clear strategies for local, sub-national and national levels it will ensure the UK is as resilient as possible. "The National Resilience Capabilities Programme will define content, speakers and exhibitors. It is essential that products and services match the requirements of responders - we aim to become a leader in showcasing the latest technology and services that support the emergency preparedness, resilience and response community" Says David Thompson.
