Oxford Global's 4th Annual Cell Culture & Bioprocessing Congress co-located with the 2nd Annual Stem Cell Congress and the Cell & Gene Therapy Congress welcomed over 170 delegates representing leading biotech companies, global pharmaceutical organisations and internationally renowned academic institutions. Over 50 presentations, case studies and panel discussions focused on the key issues in cell line optimisation, process development and biological production.

Delegates had the opportunity to be engaged in 8 interactive streams:

  • Cell Line Development: Stem Cells, Genome-Editing, CRISPR & NGS
  • Process Development
  • Cell Line Development: Mammalian & Bacterial Expression Systems
  • Biological Production
  • Stem Cell & iPSC Bioprocessing and Manufacturing
  • Stem Cell Therapy inc. Clinical & Commercialisation
  • Cell & Gene Therapy: Development, Clinical Trials & Commercialisation
  • Cell Therapy Bioprocessing

Across the two days, the Congress mixed presentations from both Academics and Industries:

  • Stewart Abbot - Executive Director, Integrative Research, Celgene
  • Zameel Cader - Associate Professor, StemBANCC
  • Che Connon - Reader in Tissue Engineering & Cell Therapy, University of Reading
  • Francesco Dazzi - Professor, Imperial College London
  • Orit Aharonovitz - Head of Molecular & Cell Biology, Teva Pharmaceuticals
  • Arna Andrews - Director, Cell Line Development, CSL Limited
  • Martin Bertschinger - Senior Team Leader Cell Line and Early Process Development
  • Arnaud Brisson - Head of Upstream Process Development, Sanofi
  • Darya Burakov - Associate Director, Regeneron

Outstanding feedback

Senior level delegates came together to discuss current research and exchange experience and knowledge from within the industry. The congress brought great opportunity for networking and many solution providers were impressed with the opportunity of networking: "I found this event well organised with the right target audience for us. The sponsor to attendee ratio meant that people were more likely to stop at the booth. The Oxford Global staff that we worked with have been exceptionally helpful and professional and a pleasure to meet". - Product Manager, Fresenius Kabi

Delegates enjoyed the organisation and format of the congress especially the mixture of academic and industry presentations which represented the Cell Culture, Stem Cell and Cell & Gene Therapy industry as a whole. The relevance and the quality of the topics have also been highlighted: ""The presentations at the event were very interesting. The speakers had diverse topics which offered insights into cell line development, bioprocessing and cell therapy research"" - Head Biotech Projects, Bayer AG

Following the event, we analysed statistics and feedback from attendees, and we are proud to announce that we achieved an "Above Average" or "Excellent" rating in all categories including:

  • Relevance and Quality of the Delegates and Solution Providers
  • Organisation of the One-to-one Meetings
  • Format and Content of the Congress Agenda
