Provista Life Sciences LLC (PLS) today announced a limited national rollout of the BT Test, a new predictive blood test to aid healthcare providers in the early detection of breast cancer. Through a partnership with MedicExams, a national network of healthcare testing facilities, women can now take the BT Test in 27 states nationwide.

"The BT Test is a predictive analytical tool that is based on a patient's blood chemistry and is directly associated with the underlying pathology of breast cancer," said William Gartner, President and CEO at Provista Life Sciences. "With the logistical support of Medic Exams, we are now able to help women across the country get access to the BT Test. When used in conjunction with mammography and other screening diagnostic imaging procedures, the BT Test offers women a more comprehensive and effective means to screen for breast cancer."

The BT Test, or Biomarker Translation Test, finds multiple cancer-related proteins in the blood and combines the results with the patient's medical profile to help physicians in their efforts to find breast cancer as early as possible. Clinical research conducted on the BT Test showed an accuracy rate above 80 percent and all of the blood samples are processed at Provista, a CLIA compliant laboratory in Phoenix. Provista will file private insurance claims on behalf of women who take the BT Test™ and for women who do not wish to submit an insurance claim, the BT Test is now available at a cost of $195.

"Provista's partnership with Medic Exams will allow women quick and easy access to the BT Test", said Larry Blue, MedicExams' National Account Manager "The BT Test is an extremely important advancement in women's healthcare and we are pleased to be part Provista's national rollout for this test."

MedicExams is a network of 2400 experienced medical professionals across the United States who conducts physical examinations, testing and personal health interviews for the healthcare industry. MedicExams will initially be providing mobile blood draw services for Provista's BT Test in Arizona and 26 states that currently allow direct-to-consumer testing.

To receive the BT Test, women can call Provista at (888) 649-6636 to place an order and have a test kit sent out to them. Within 48 hours of the call, MedicExams will phone to schedule an appointment for the blood draw at a time and place that is convenient for the customer. Once the sample is collected, MedicExams will make sure the sample and all the necessary paperwork is sent back to Provista for testing. Upon completion of the analysis, the results of the test are then sent to the patient.
