Prof. Agnes Binagwaho, M.D., MPEd, Ph.D., is the vice chancellor of the University of Global Health Equity. This is a global university in the rural north of Rwanda that focuses on changing the way that people around the world deliver healthcare by training the next generation of global health professionals to provide more equitable, quality health services for all. She has previously worked as the executive secretary of Rwanda’s National AIDS Control Commission, as the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health, and as the Minister of Health. Prof. Binagwaho is also a member of the U.S. National Academy of Medicine and a fellow of the African Academy of Sciences. She has published over 210 peer reviewed articles and has been named among the 100 Most Influential African Women for 2020.
