James Kingsland is a passionate gardener who works as a freelance science and medical journalist in his spare time. Over the years he has written, edited and sub-edited for New Scientist, Nature and the Guardian newspaper in London, among other publications. He is the author of two books: Siddhartha’s Brain about the neuroscience of meditation and enlightenment, and Am I Dreaming? about the benefits and pitfalls of altered states of consciousness.
