According to WHO (World Health Organization), 615 cases of swine flu infection among humans have officially been reported in 15 countries. Total confirmed infections in Mexico now stand at 397, including 16 deaths. Most of the Mexican rise of confirmed cases comes more as a result of ongoing testing of a backlog of samples.

Below are the figures so far (2nd May 2009):

WHO continues to advise that restrictions of regular travel or the closure of borders is not advised. If you are ill you should postpone any international travel, and if you develop symptoms when returning from a trip you should seek medical attention in line with guidance from national authorities

In the United Kingdom, authorities are asking people who develop symptoms after returning from international trips to call their doctors, rather than physically going in to see them. This is to prevent potential infection of other people. One understands that this means the doctor will come to your house and check you out.

Pork meat is safe to eat, says WHO
