15 Countries Report 615 Swine Flu (influenza A H1N1) Cases Of Infection Among Humans, 2nd May 2009

According to WHO (World Health Organization), 615 cases of swine flu infection among humans have officially been reported in 15 countries. Total confirmed infections in Mexico now stand at 397, including 16 deaths. Most of the Mexican rise of confirmed cases comes more as a result of ongoing testing of a backlog of samples.
Below are the figures so far (2nd May 2009):
- Austria 1 confirmed case, no deaths
- Canada 34 confirmed cases, no deaths
- China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region 1 confirmed case, no deaths
- Denmark 1 confirmed case, no deaths
- France 1 confirmed case, no deaths
- Germany 4 confirmed cases, no deaths
- Israel 2 confirmed cases, no deaths
- Mexico - 397 confirmed cases, 16 deaths
- Netherlands 1 confirmed case, no deaths
- New Zealand 4 confirmed cases, no deaths
- Republic of Korea 1 confirmed case, no deaths
- Spain 13 confirmed cases, no deaths
- Switzerland 1 confirmed cases, no deaths
- United Kingdom 13 confirmed cases, no deaths
- USA - 141 confirmed cases,1 death
In the United Kingdom, authorities are asking people who develop symptoms after returning from international trips to call their doctors, rather than physically going in to see them. This is to prevent potential infection of other people. One understands that this means the doctor will come to your house and check you out.
Pork meat is safe to eat, says WHO
