Patient Reviews
Apr 26, 2021
I grew up an unconventional thinker in an extremely traditional household. I grew up as a middle eastern guy in America and my body hair and ethnicity from an early age resulted in heavy bullying and subsequently a view of myself characterized by overwhelming shame. Being different felt like a curse my whole life because it was explicitly and implicitly expressed to me that I was unlovable unless I met certain conditions (growing up to work in a certain field, or earning my love through lopsided loyalty). At 28 years old I see myself finally crawling out of an emotional void, clearly cultivated to protect myself from getting too close to anyone, because I was able to talk through these issues with a nonjudgmental professional who kept on task for the entirety of my sessions. I ran out of characters but basically come to therapy with Carolyn armed with self awareness and a willingness to change old habits and you will not be disappointed.
