How likely are you to recommend Dr. Nocerino?
Dr and staff sent in three prior authorizations and two appeals to try a new, safe and effective medication. Seems to be working - the only one in it's class. Three other doctors at another institution nearby didn't seem to know about the new medication and were not open to learning about it and prescribing it - I suppose they did not understand the impact of gastroenterology on neurology. The staff and Dr. Nocerino understood it pretty well. Pushed past the insurance company hesitancy and got it covered so I could afford it. They were familiar with the literature I had seen and decided this should be an opportunity to try it and maybe the right drug - before I even came for the appointment. A level of preparation I usually don't see. I didn't have to try to talk them into it, they knew about the medication and the importance to people with Parkinson's. When you find doctors that helpful and knowledgeable - you stick with them.
