Dr. Rossi, along with Dr. Barbosa, Dr. Rosbach and Dr. Grana saved our daughter, Emma Jane Isabella Quinlan Rubini. Dr. Rossi, while pregnant with her first child, had to tell us that our sweet Emma, at 6 months old, would likely die. Emma was diagnosed, with a white blood cell count of over 250 and petechia bruising all over her body, with a rare form of leukemia cancer. There had only been 5 other cases of children in the US with this type of cancer and they all had died. She and the other doctors agreed that Emma needed a total body blood transfusion immediately and they didn’t expect her to survive. We had to sign so many papers in that room that night and Dr. Rossi tried to explain it all. Then, we all just cried. Through it all she was there pregnant and all. We use to sing to our daughter her name “Emma Jane Isabella Quinlan Rubini”. One morning, Dr. Rossi came into Emma’s hospital room singing it too! She said she had been singing it in the shower rubbing her belly!
