How likely are you to recommend Dr. Meikle?
Short version: dr. Meikle is the best in every way, bed side manner and his skills/knowledge as a surgeon! Long version: I recently had surgery for deep infiltration endometriosis and Dr. Meikle was part of the team of 3 surgeons. I was referred to him by Dr. Hawa my gyno. I loved Dr. Meikle from the moment I met him for my consult. He is very through, he explains all the if’s and but’s and let me tell you, I had lots of questions, but most were already answered before I got a chance to ask them. When I did have the surgery in stone spring hospital, he was my attending doctor because I was kept in the hospital for the colorectal portion of the surgery. Dr. Meikle came to see how I was doing every single morning around 8ish and he was once again always so patient with me answered all my questions and concerns. My recovery has been amazing ( partial sigmoid colectomy ) and I think it’s partly because of me and how I’ve been taking care of my self post surgery, but I think it’s mainly because of the highly skilled surgeons that worked on me. Dr. Meikle is not only skilled and knowledgeable, but he also has amazing work ethic and integrity. Prior to surgery I had asked Dr. Meikle to be conservative and with keeping that in mind, during surgery he did a colonoscopy (wasn’t part of the plan) and he realized my rectum lumen was half way obscured due to my illness which if he didn’t correct, I would end up back in surgery a couple of years down the line except then with much more significant symptoms so he had to use his best judgment and do what was medically necessary. After surgery I can see he wasn’t happy that he couldn’t keep it as conservative I had asked for, however I’m so glad he did what he thought was best for me, that’s all I wanted, I wanted what was needed to not just get better now, but have a better future. I thank him from the bottom of my heart and I’ve told him repeatedly how amazing he is and him being a humble man he would smile and blush a little and be so appreciative of my kind words, but it’s equally important for me to let others to know this as well so they know they are in great hands!
