The recent news about Dr Meany is absolutely terrible and hard for me to understand. I am a 34 year old female and have seen Dr Meany for psychiatry & psychotherapy for more than 4 years and I have never found a Dr, of any specialty, to be so kind, genuine, and willing to go the extra mile. He has been nothing but professional while I’ve been under his care and despite knowing how wrong his actions were, and how vulnerable we are under the care of someone in his position, I still think there are two sides to every story. I don’t know why the, quote on quote victim decided to make this public, by getting the media involved. There is enough shame and heartache without the public throwing in their two cents only knowing bits and pieces. Out of all the Dr’s I’ve ever seen, he would be last on my list for this—truly unexpected & hard to digest. It certainly doesn’t change my mind about the level of care & expertise he has provided me in these last years.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
