I visited Dr Hoops at the MSDI office in Portland, this was to be a neurological exam to determine eligibility for SSDI. From her records I've noticed that she only has a general surgical certification and is not a neurological specialist as I was informed I would be seeing. Although she presented herself as being caring and knowledgeable I'm concerned that her lack of specialized training won't reflect negatively on my review. A very nice competent Dr generally.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
