My appt w/Dr. Salem was as a new patient. I've been with my other gastro doctor for 21 yrs and he admitted that he's just not the biologic expert that Dr. Salem is; hence, the referral to him. As a 67 yr old with Crohn's Disease for 50+ yrs, I was VERY impressed. He spent 1 hr with me and that in by itself was impressive. It felt like he was really interested in learning what he could about how the disease has progressed over the years with me. He appears very knowledgeable and explained things about Crohn's that I was not aware of (after living with this disease for 50+ yrs, I pretty much know ALOT more than most patients) and also "connected the dots" for me on others. I was extremely satisfied with my visit overall and look forward to his help in figuring out what is going on with my disease and looking for a way to control these symptoms I am suffering with! As a side note, {staff name removed} was also very helpful. She is kind and easy to like. I know nurses are busy and have to deal with all types of patients. {staff name removed} appears to be good at what she does from the time she scheduled my appointment with a phone call to finally having the opportunity to meet her in person. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to complete this survey.

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams.
