I have a large callus on the bottom of my foot just below my toes which has been quite painful for me to walk. Recently when I went to Lighthouse Foot and Ankle Center to have my toe nails clipped, the nurse asked me if the callous was bothering me as she thought it had enlarged. I told her it certainly was very painful. She asked if I minded if she ask Dr. Kurlanski to come in and examine it, and of course I said not at all. The doctor told me that she felt sure that she could make some orthotics that would be of help. I was certainly very willing to have her. A few weeks ago, I visited her and new orthotics were made for me and what a huge difference they have made for the comfort of my foot. When I visited her yesterday, I told her that I no longer am in pain when walking and that I thought it was shrinking in size. After my shower, I have been using a pumice stone and putting on foot cream and the new orthotics have definitely made a world of difference. I am so grateful!!

What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
