How likely are you to recommend Dr. Martin?
Doctor Martin is absolutely AMAZING!!!! If you are looking for an excellent neurosurgeon, Dr. Martin is the one!!! He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, caring, great communication skills, and truly wants to help his patients. I never thought the day would come to where I am completely pain free, but thanks to Dr. Martin, I finally am!!!! He is an absolutely amazing neurosurgeon with great expertise in this field. I could not be more thankful than I am for Dr. Martin. I got referred to Doctor Martin by my chiropractor that has sent other patients too and saw incredible results. As a 20-year-old needing to get my first surgery was very nerve racking for myself and my family. Once I continued my search, Dr. Martin's has great experience and a lot of happy patients that have been thrilled with the results had brought us into seeing him for a consultation. Dr. Martin was extremely knowledgeable, very kind, friendly, and it was very clear that he truly wanted to help me in this painful situation and to make me pain free. I came to Dr. Martin for a herniated disc, and it has been causing me pain for almost 5 years. This herniated disc caused me to have horrible Sciatica that made it painful during any physical activity, but within the past year, the pain has increased traumatically and has prevented me from participating in any physical activities due to the pain. I felt helpless and like this sharp pain that started from my lower back, all the way down my leg and into my foot and toes. It got to the point where it did not matter whether I was standing or sitting, the pain just kept increasing. The only thing that helped for a while was to get adjusted at the chiropractor, but that was only temporary until the pain came back days later. Doctor Martin knew exactly what was going on with me and my MRI also showed my herniated disc. Dr. Martin is NOT the type of surgeon that is just trying to do surgery regardless of the seriousness, just for the money! Dr. Martin DOES truly want to help his patients and choose the best option for them, and if surgery is not the case, then he will kindly let you know what other options would be beneficial. For me, Dr. Martin knew I actually needed this Microdiscectomy surgery after examining me and immediately was prepared to educate myself and my parents about any risks with the surgery and what the outcome would be. Although there are always risks with being in surgery, Martin was extremely confident that he could take good care of me and get me back to normal so I can finally live the rest of my life without having that horrible pain and will no longer be restricted from any fun activities that I enjoy doing. I ended up going through with the microdiscectomy surgery for my herniated disc with Dr. Martin and I AM SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS!! Martin is a very good communicator and would answer any of my questions, and also with him knowing how nervous I was for my first surgery ever while only being 20, he was able to ease my anxiety and provide me with valuable answers each time, even after the surgery. On surgery day, Martin came and checked on me beforehand to see how I was doing and to discuss what to expect. All of the staff that cared for me that day were amazing, kind, and overall really nice people that made me feel safe and comfortable. The surgery only took about an hour, and once I woke up from the anesthesia, the pain in my leg was immediately gone!!! They had me wait for about an hour after I woke up and gave me snacks and a beverage to make sure I was doing okay. Dr. Martin came in when I woke up and talked to me and my parents about how the surgery went and recovery instructions. All of my follow-up appointments have been super quick and effective, since my recovery has been going smoothly, he has been thrilled with my results as well as I am! During my recovery time, any questions that I have and forgot to ask at my appointment, I have been able to call and get a response, and using MyChart to message him, and every single time has responded with a phone call within 24 hours, but normally even hours after I messaged. Anytime I missed his phone call, he leaves a voice message and will continue to try to contact me so that he can answer my questions immediately and would provide great information for me and answer my questions knowledgeably. I cannot thank Dr. Martin enough for how amazing he is as a surgeon and as a human being. Martin TRULY wants to help people and find a solution to their pain/problems. He is an incredibly nice person, good sense of humor, caring, and extremely knowledgeable in his profession. After feeling hopeless for my pain for so long, I never thought this day would come that I am pain free, but thanks to Dr. Martin I finally am pain free!!! I will recommend Dr. Martin to anyone and everyone I know that is looking for a reliable and amazing neurosurgeon that truly wants to help each and every individual patient that comes in. THANK YOU SO MUCH DR. MARTIN!!! You are truly amazing, and I cannot be any more grateful for how well you have taken care of me. Also, his staff is incredible and super friendly! They seem to be a little short staffed, but that did not affect how quick and efficient his staff are. If I left a voicemail or message, they would get back with me within 24 hours every time and provide me with helpful information.
